She Sharp is a nonprofit run entirely by Volunteers and Ambassadors

Everything that happens behind the scenes is all thanks to a passionate group of people who want to see more women in STEM.

Our team is made up of students and professionals in the industry who dedicate their time to collaborate with our corporate sponsors, organise and run events, and make sure everything we’re doing at She Sharp is making an impact.

Ways you can volunteer

Help with Events

Throughout the year, we host our own events and raise She Sharp’s profile and our mission to bridge the gender gap by attending industry conferences like the Tomorrow Expo and MOTAT’s STEM Fair.

These volunteers roles are selected on a per-event basis—perfect if you want to get more involved with She Sharp a handful of times a year.

Help with operations behind the scenes

Our Ambassadors are involved in running She Sharp as a nonprofit organisation all year round—think shaping our events, engaging with our community, and She Sharp’s digital marketing.

We recruit Ambassadors every February. If you’re passionate about She Sharp’s work and are keen to volunteer on a weekly basis, be sure to apply!

What it means to be an events Volunteer

You’ll be part of the team making sure our events run smoothly and that our attendees are having a fun, engaging time. This includes:

  • Being at the event for set up and pack down
  • Welcoming, engaging, and chatting with attendees as they arrive and throughout the event
  • Knowing your way around the venue
  • Supporting our speakers and panellists
  • Being a great representative for She Sharp with your friendly, passionate, and helpful attitude

What it means to be an ambassador

Our Ambassadors make up She Sharp’s core team and are responsible for:

  • Volunteering weekly and attending fortnightly team meetings
  • Organising She Sharp events from ideation to execution
  • Collaborating with our corporate sponsors
  • Contributing to She Sharp’s digital marketing with ideas for our newsletter, podcast and social media posts
  • Attending events and engaging with She Sharp members throughout the year
  • Being a great brand Ambassador for She Sharp and making an impact to bridge the gender gap in STEM

As an Ambassador for She Sharp, I have had the privilege of collaborating with fabulous like-minded Wahine, connecting with amazing people from diverse STEM fields and sharing my passion for STEM and inclusivity with so many talented, successful and inspiring Women in Industry.

The She Sharp team really take care of you and make sure you get access to the benefits as if you are a participant of each event. Networking is a great example of that. I’ve met more women in tech from the first event than I have in months. They go out of their way to make sure the volunteers are seen and appreciated for their hard work.
