About This Event

AI Forum is hosting the 2025 AI Hackathon across Aotearoa.

Who can join? Anyone who wants to solve real-world problems across 5 critical pathways:

With only 5 years left to achieve the 2030 SDGs and 84% of targets off-track, the AI Hackathon brings together diverse minds to create technological solutions for our most pressing global challenges. You'll learn new skills, create connections, make an impact and network with mentors in our safe space to play and promote AI for Good.

Each hackathon team will pitch their solution to a judging panel and regional winners will be announced. Our national judging panel will then select 4 finalists to pitch their idea at the 2025 Aotearoa AI Summit, 18 September in Auckland, where the audience votes for the national winner.

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and SheSharp are delighted to be hosting this event this year, and we invite you to join us and solve real-world environmental problems with AI.

Registrations are open now. To register click on "Register for Event" and select date (15-16 August, 2025) and location (Auckland — AUT and SheSharp).

Everything in one place to power your hackathon journey. Find essential info on logistics, training materials, datasets, and mentorship — all organized for quick access.

Join us for "Become hack-fit" — your first step to hackathon readiness. Mark the dates for the rest of the series: ➡️ 22 July — Tell the Story with AI; ➡️ 24 July — Design Thinking with AI; ➡️ 29 July — Accessible Futures; ➡️ 31 July — Agentic Frameworks. Join us in preparing to solve problems that really matter.
