What happened in November?

November was a huge month for She Sharp and I couldn’t be prouder of this community. We hosted our very first event outside of Auckland and if that wasn’t enough, we also hosted our inaugural Google Educator Conference (formerly known as CS4HS).

💼 At our Hamilton event, we delved into the realms of change management and the importance of upskilling, particularly in the tech industry. A panel of esteemed experts shared invaluable insights, underscoring the transformative impact of technology in various sectors. My deepest gratitude goes to HCLTech and our dedicated team for making this event possible.

📚 Our Google Educator Conference was an action-packed day of learning, not just for our teachers but for us too. Our educators engaged in interactive sessions on coding, AI, Cybersecurity, VR, and more, equipping them to inspire and ignite curiosity in their classrooms. The conference was a day filled with discovery and collaboration, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the speakers, panelists, sponsors, and especially the She Sharp ambassadors for making this event a success.

🙏 Lastly, I am honoured to have received the “Unsung Hero” award at the New Zealand Women in Security Awards 2023. This award is not just a personal achievement but a reflection of our collective efforts in empowering women and promoting inclusivity in STEM fields.

Technological Change - Workplace & Workforce Impacts

Our very first event in Hamilton and what a blast it was! The She Sharp team took a road trip to the University of Waikato, where we chatted about all things change. Hearing from a variety of professionals, from those just starting out to those making the executive decisions — everyone learned something about the changing workforce and what this means for the STEM industries.

Google Educator Conference (formerly known as CS4HS)

This month, we hosted a dynamic and transformative event at Google offices, bringing together over 100 teachers to immerse themselves in the world of cutting-edge technology. The Google Educator Conference was a hub of innovation, offering interactive sessions in coding, AI, cybersecurity, and VR. Teachers were not only equipped with new skills but also inspired to bring a spark of creativity and curiosity into their classrooms.

With hands-on workshops, the conference turned learning into an engaging, unforgettable experience. It was a day filled with discovery and collaboration, aimed at unlocking the immense potential of the next generation.

Women in Security Awards Evening 2023

The She Sharp team dressed up this November to attend the annual Women in Security Awards. A fabulous evening, the night was topped off with our founder Mahsa winning the “Unsung Hero” award! It was an inspiring event and the She Sharp team were honoured to recognise the best of New Zealand’s security scene.
